“At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • "About one-in-five children (21%) are living with a solo mother," according to the Pew Research Center.

It is our hope and prayer that you know you are not alone on this journey.
We are here to pray with you and for you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

"Hearts in Faith was a vision given to our Founder, Dr. Leslie Davis, by God to empower single moms, aka Sweet Hearts who sometimes feel alone and have little to no support. Sometimes society may view Sweet Hearts as only struggling and not thriving. Be encouraged by knowing that we are all created by God with unique gifts and talents. Just because you are unmarried does not mean that you are not valued or unworthy of love and support. Single moms have a unique journey as you balance your wants and desires for relationships, careers, etc. with your duty and privilege to be amazing moms. Leslie has been on this single mom journey for over 16 years, so trust when we tell you that she knows the struggle. Being a single mom is a huge challenge with immeasurable rewards. Yes, there are days when she feels like she's not doing enough as a mom while balancing being a mother, a counselor, a boss, a friend, etc. But she has learned to rely on God’s guidance as He provides the strength and wisdom to endure the single mom journey."

According to the CDC, "Youth violence is an adverse childhood experience and is connected to other forms of violence, including child abuse and neglect, teen dating violence, adult intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and suicide."

Changing Lives, One Heart at a Time.

According to the United States Census Bureau 2016, “9.9 million…The number of single mothers living with children younger than 18 in 2015, up from 7.7 million in 1985.”

No longer should the single mother have to endure her journey alone. We are here to serve you. Hearts in Faith is a faith-based nonprofit organization created for single moms, or as we affectionately call you, Sweet Hearts.  We also support youth who we call our Heart Beats.

Our mission is to empower single moms and youth by promoting healthy relationships as well as emotional, mental, and spiritual strength.

We currently have four programs serving the single moms, single fathers, and youth of Madison and St. Clair Counties of Illinois.
